"The Grandfather" Episode Synopsis:
Devastated by the recent plot twist in her life, Blair (Leighton Meester) turns her back on her predictable Waldorf existence in favor of a more wild and unpredictable lifestyle, causing Serena (Blake Lively) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) to have serious concerns about their friend. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) convinces Nate (Chace Crawford) that it may be time to forgive and forget when it comes to his mother's Kennedyesque family, The Vanderbilts, who abandoned Nate and his mother when they needed them most. In a misguided effort to be completely honest with each other, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle) agree to share lists of their past lovers. Penn Badgley and Taylor Momsen also star. J. Miller Tobin directed the episode written by Robby Hull & Etan Frankel.

I think it's because of the whole Nate/Jenny thing. At least for me.

I used to like Vanessa and Nate together, but after watching the other seasons and seeing how Nate and Jenny are with each other and then watching some videos here and remembering the whole Jenny-Nate-Vanessa thing I dont really like her that much anymore...

The good thing about NV though is that she makes him less upper east sidish...

But NJ are still my favorites...

Well, Im black as well (not from the US though) and I dont like Vanessa that much! I think people not liking her has nothing to do with that! Specially because most of the time one cant even remember that detail!!!

I used to like Vanessa, but I prefer Nate with Jenny!

He seems to care about her way more than about Vanessa...

Vanessa can be with Dan. They are Okay together, have lots of things in common and all that...Although she can be a bit annoying when she was jealous of Serena now on S 4.

haha so true. and i'm black as well. but that was not my main reason for supporting them. i really thought that vanessa bought out a side in nate that freed him from having to live up to all the pressures he faced in his relation ship with blair. also i really think that vanessa is beautiful and i agree with all that u just said about the hair and such. ppl can be really cruel and don't understand that black ppl have different hair from white ppl.

Fleurgi, you got thumbs down on Vanessa because she is black and her hair is not straight, obviously. You don't see this kind of disdain on the Blair/Nate, Chuck/Blair, Nate/Serena, Dan/Derena, or Nate/Jenny pages. It's because V. isn't white. End of story.
