Learn to Speak Thai: Taking a Taxi

It is time to increase your Thai vocabulary... catching a taxi by yourself : )

First a tip, it would impress everybody, if you where polite in Thai, all you need to do is finished the sentence with word 'khrap' if you are a man, 'ka' if you are a girl.

Today I am going to introduce you to five phrases

* where you want to go
* could you please use the meter?
* could you please stop/park here?
* how much?
* thank you

Ok...my dear and beautiful friend...I was in Bkk the last week, and i used your lessons to take taxi...i used to pay everytime more then 200 bath each time i catch the taxi. The last time i didnt pay more then 160 bath, ask him chuay chai meter duay, using your pronunce!!! good job my dear.....

Combining the phrases slightly differently, would it be proper to say, "Chuay pai thii (hotel name) duay khrap"?

I agree with ahseong ... You made this lesson fun ! I particularly like the "tone arrows" you used. I wont get into a no meter taxi .. but I've had drivers take the "long way" ! Thaorai will be usefull today at Chatuchalk market ! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this helpful lesson !!
