This is my first attempt at editing video. Be forewarned that wasps can be very aggressive IF disturbed! My video does not represent the scientific consensus on wasps, entirely... Music by Pluxus. I would appreciate any feedback! Thank you everyone. Enjoy.

  • lol he says dont hurt them, but i bet you any money he got rud of the nest after makeing the vid, especaly if it was nere his home.

  • The nest actually lasted the summer, and my dad came to like it so much that he protected it from snow with cardboard in hopes that the queen would return next year ha ha (true story).

  • even when they land on you, if you don't panic, just make it climb on your finger, walk a dozen yards away and put it on the nearby ground (very gently!!). how do ya do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You need to understand wasps to lift your fear of them. All they want is to help their nest, they can't do that dead, so they don't go out stinging anything that is not a threat to them or their nest (unless you trigger a chemical imbalance in them). Usually if they are near you they are probably just exploring for food or nest building material.

  • Well burning will stop your problems with them for sure, but I think there are other kick ass ways to get rid of them. If they are far and in low traffic, like earlier suggestions, putting a bit of food near their nests, not swatting aggressively (rather slowly swooching them away), even when they land on you, if you don't panic, just make it climb on your finger, walk a dozen yards away and put it on the nearby ground (very gently!!).

  • They make good companions if everyone is used to them. If they are close and in high traffic, I would suggest moving the nest at night, drive it to a nearby forest, an annoying neighbor's deck, or something or rather. Under extreme circumstances that require immediate attention (having allergies or allergic children out and about) well I would move it immediately, not burn it, but I would understand "disposing" of it. To my knowledge VERY few people are allergic to wasps, but I am not sure.

  • Ironically their stingers - the very thingy that evolution gave them to survive - appears to be their downfall since it makes up want to kill them.

Wasps are harmless just as long as you dont anger them - ive had many a wasp land on me finger and then fly of harmlessly. The only time they are a pest is in October when food becomes low and they turn aggressive.

  • @VixxenEyez he has a fuking problum

  • makes me wanna shoot them with a 12 gauge shutgun with bird shot lol

  • So peaceful- love the creatures- if you love bees and you want to relocate there nest- gently remove the nest and carry it softly to a new location and set it down GENTLY- it works!!!!! they'll crawl on you but no big deal!

  • what magnificent creatures

  • thay are

  • true XD

  • i know but there weapons of assdistruction are armed and ready

  • makes me want a pet wasp... lol

  • If you don't bother them, they won't bother you. They are actually beneficial for your garden because they kill other pests and keep the spider population from growing out of control. I once had a spiderweb on my window and witnessed how a wasp landed on the spider, stung it, and carried it away in flight. Wasps will sting their prey, paralyze it, and then lay their eggs in it. The hatchlings will then consume the carcass as the eggs hatch from inside.
