  • So what is more interesting of a character? A gay rights activist or a flamboyant gay man? I'm very very pro-marriage equality and all that, but in wrestling it's about gimmicks. A champion of gay equality is not going to sell as a gimmick, it's just not interesting. If anything, Pat Patterson is the true role model for homosexuals because instead of going out there and being equal with heterosexuals as a gimmick or shtick... he actually went out there and WAS equal.

  • @IrisInTwilight It's funny you would ask that, because Simon Sermon is the top attraction in his local venue because he's "one of the guys" and not afraid that people know he's gay. He's done a lot of good for gay guys who were afraid to come out beforehand. The "gimmicks" you call them that entertain you promote a negative stereotype.

  • I appreciate this movie<3 I'm an openly gay wrestler(in training) at WWE Hall of Famer, Jimmy Valiant's Boogies Wrestling Camp,& I'm having to fight through training, but also bust my a $ $ twice as hard because of my sexual preference. My first week there, someone said I'd be nothing but a Santino Marella- saying I'd be nothing more than a gimmick used as a jobber/mid-card joke.

Luna Vachon told me at age 6 "It's okay to be different"I'M HERE TO STAY

  • It's funny how this guy and the image he portrays he knows next to nothing about gay stereotypes and the actual reality.

  • Adrian Street was a legend in England in the 1970's. My childhood was all the richer for having seen him in action. Long live Adrian Street.

  • Street did it right. He skipped around and acted the part until the bell rang, then tore his opponents to shreds.

  • Also Adrian Street made Goldust's costumes.

  • I think about most recently with Orlando Jordan in TNA. When Jordan was in WWE, you wouldn't have known he was gay or bisexual because he kept it to himself. Suddenly, when he got to TNA, he's suddenly wearing Cupid wings, diapers, and make-up. THAT was what I had the problem with: the stereotypical flamboyancy of it all.

  • Bobby Davis was Buddy Rogers manager back in the day. Shocked to see how big he got in his later years & still wrestle. Couldn' be easy for his heart...add to that his gay persona..

  • i think the gimmick was used as people wanna beat up gays and ppl that act like that,..so in a weird way it makes esense... i personally never heard of the guy. i think that speaks for it self as far how important he was... in same category as ..crush..the rooster.tugboat etc...

  • @jarmst6669

True, but if you have noticed most of those gimmicks are not used any more.

  • @WELLBRAN Consider that he's in his 70s now. If this is a recent film, Street looks to be in fantastic health.

  • @TommyStarstruck is golddust yrou idol?
