I love the spot where you're just loosely comping G dominant intervals and three note chords all over the neck. It isn't as easy to voice-lead that way through jazz progressions, but it sounds incredible when you do. Having a solid bass player frees you up a lot if you have some experience.

It happens cuz u need a large force to press the strings near the nut
the nut provides resistance
by playing those chords a lot WITH THE SIDE OF THE FINGER you can manage them
and ur finger will be tough from the side just like what happens to the tips of finger
