I played this during my freshman year of high school, when I was actually in the jazz band. I dropped out the following year, because I disagreed with how the band director ran things. Sure, we all aspire to sound great and all, but what a lot of people forget is that jazz music was never intended to be a well-oiled machine. In fact, it was supposed to be everything music at the time wasn't.
That's just my opinion, but other than that, this is a great-sounding cover or whatever you call it.

i got an oppertunity this year to get to play this chart, its tough. they did a truely amazing job playing this, the only thing i would recommendis a little more dynamic contrast in the second half. other then that they are truely amazing, and playing it, ii understand how easy it is to really get into it and forget the dynamics, so great job, its truely one of the best sounding recording of this arrangement. i love it!

I love this song! Great Sound from the trombones, thats what captivated me in the end, and the first trombone soloist was superb :P

I played this song when I was in high school. I was the bass player and played that sweet lick. I got a trophy for best rhythm soloist at contest. I want to give my trophy back because that chick totally kicked my ass!
