Minority governments just don't work in Canada. The government is not able to rule effectively and fringe groups hold the balance of power.
Yes, I think minority governments are a BAD thing... at least in Canada. Other countries have been able to make the system work, but we haven't figured it out yet.

I say no to STV. Maybe instead of putting that comitte together they should of donated the money to homeless in Vancouver and stop shipping them to the interior.

Yes, I agree. It also enables the smaller lobby groups to work the backrooms and have their way, taking advantage of the fact that one riding will now be represented by several MLA's from potentially different parties. How will my neighbourhood ever get representation if my MLA's are always infighting? If you think a minority gov't is working, look at the Federal Gov't - is there more cooperation, or are the Conservatives prevented from delivering their mandate?
No STV for me.

well said!

Yes, there is some truth to that. I'm not quite sure which way to go on this one.
Still, it sounds like you think minority gov't is a bad thing. How better can government be held accountable to all than with a minority?
-
STV means more minority governments... effectively inhibiting the government to put policies into effect.

STV is a joke

Minority governments mean less ideological conflict. It means that people will actually have to work together, despite different political points of view.
Minority governments also tend to be more bold and socially progressive.
Its time for some change, and STV is change in the right direction.
