Wushu Look Back #3 - Butterfly Twists (2003 vs 2011)

A look back in wushu time. Back in the good ol' days of the Florida State University Wushu Club.

Butterfly twists from 2003 vs 2011.

The 2003 clips were some of the earliest attempts at twisting that I can remember. The typical beginner style bunny hop setup and uncoordinated arm movements are evident in the unsuccessful transfer of momentum. Also, the expected fear of not completing the full twist leads to initiating the twist way too early without a jump.

The 2011 clips are some of the latest footage from a couple weeks ago. The twist still isn't pretty, with bent legs and lack of control in landing. Progress has been made and can still be made! :)
