Johns Hopkins and Duke would face off for the 2005 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship. Though Duke was trying to pull out a victory to help revive a program struck by controversy; it would be Johns Hopkins winning its first title in nearly two decades and completing a perfect 16-0 season.
