@greenjack1959l Apologies, I wasn't aware that providing some relevant information regarding the piece (you know, for people who, unlike you, aren't as dumb as a post and are genuinely interested in the music) would be regarded as "bollocks".
I'll wager that being such an ignorant prick has furnished you with ample opportunities for advancement in life.

daveeol 1 year ago
@daveeol According to Wikipedia:
"Planxty" is a word used by the classic harper Turlough O'Carolan in many of his works, and is believed to denote a tribute to a particular person: "Planxty Irwin", for example, would be in honor of Colonel John Irwin of Sligo. "Planxty" is thought to be a corruption of the Irish word and popular toast "sláinte", meaning "good health". Others claim that the word is not Irish in origin but comes from the Latin "plangere," meaning to strike or beat.

When he says Lord of the Cashs-O the song refers to the Lord of Casele who was a scottish baron in the 1640s. He imprisoned his wife lady jane Hamilton and she spent the rest of her life in jail and hanged the romani gypsy.
