Cummins M11 engine & ZF 4HP590 transmission.
Photo and recording by me. Recorded back in 2004 when it was still in the fleet. These D40HFs were retired in late 2007/early 2008. Good times

No. Believe it or not, this bus has a Cummins M-11 like in motorcoaches, but it still has a transit bus transmission.

@dejohn913 I agree! Definitely sounds just like our Flxibles (which are currently being retired BTW) here in NJ, as well as some of the RTS Nova buses. Pretty much same powertrain but with a Cummins C8.3 engine, which sounds kinda crappy, or at least it does in the Flxibles.
