Ada invites all to compare scores at cow-pi.com. In 2011 the top score got bumped up to over 3600! Pretty impressive.
If you have your own local contest coming up, try out the practice page. It lets you work on (test) any section of pi. Also check out the digits page. It allows you to print out your practice digits in all kinds of formats, 'nnnn nnnn', 'nn-nn' etc. Way better than writing them out by hand!
