I was lucky enough to see her a couple of times in the 70's....her music literally changed my life..I have never heard a singer of her genius since..she was...truly...a gift from God..

I'd like to point something out about this remarkable genius. She sings, as a very young woman, with the same power and simplicity that Johnny Cash took a lifetime to master. It's just that simple.

I feel so beside myself that I always thought I knew something about music-'specially R&B-until I viewed 5 D"s Wedding Bells Blues...realized Laura wrote the song. Never heard of her before I decided to look onto her works here. Needless to say I am COMPLETELY in awe of so much talent coming in a total package!!! Added to it (i.e. this song) it's TIMELESS!!! I'm ensuring she's definitely being added into my collection! Also I'm joining the effort to put her in the Hall of Fame...R.I.P. Laura.

as some intelligent pop star put it recently--the big music labels have been trying to remove the artist from the equation in the music business for a long time. Well, they've finally done it , no more like her. those f-ing creeps.
