Interesting! The violin solo that opens this take is being played by the self same Darnell Howard who is playing clarinet on the preceding Muggsy Spanier take maybe 28 years later.

Yearning, heartfelt violins, glorious bass clarinet - and when the band bursts in at the end of Morton's utterly graceful solo the effect is almost overwhelming!
