This is a bit of freestyle defense practice. The attacker attacks twenty times any way he/she wishes. Half speed. Both attacker and defender are to be using the energy of the other's jo actions to power and direct their next move. The defender is also supposed to be moving from one end of the jo to the other with each new attack. This didn't happen much in this particular clip ;D
This is really good reflex and rhythm-catching practice. And if you do move back and forth along the jo's length as you defend it produces a greater facility and ease with the jo fairly quickly. Also, its quite a lot of fun!
We practice where we can, which means we get some odd decor for our practice sessions. I hope the colorful stuff on the wall behind us won't distract too much from what we're doing.
