Korg USA's Rich Formidoni explores the monotron Analog Ribbon Synthesizer. In the final part of this three-part series, a K01 KAOSSILATOR is processed using the monotron's LFO and VCF circuits. Note that the filter is the same as the one used in Korg's classic and coveted MS-10 and MS-20 synthesizers!

  • say i wanted to use all the circuitry in the monotron as is...but i want to use an external keyboard instead of the ribbon input. could i hook up a simple 61-key electronic keyboard through its headphone jack into the monotron's aux input and use a synth -type sound setting on the keyboard? would the VCO and LFO function properly, or is it only the VCF?

  • @AquaticCheese Out of the box, the monotron cannot be controlled with an external keyboard.
