I'm trying to find my rhythmic clunk while slowing down. In retro I don't think the drive shaft is the issue. I rebuilt the whole thing anyways. All the u-joints and replaced the center ball in the double cardon. (which I wish I recorded but would have been R-rated) Notice the angle of the pinion and DS is more or less inline. I lowered this angle a little to set the pinion (where the axle "pumpkin" output attaches the the DS) to -1% compared with DS. If you don't have a CV joint you want equal angles form transfercase output to DS and alxe poinion to DS. With a double cardon (CV) you want all the angle change to reside there.

  • I'm about 95% sure this is a tansmission mount problem. I'll take a shot at it next weekend.

  • Well, there is an angle you never see every day. Nice video. Pretty cool. Hope you found your problem. I chased my vibes for weeks on my Jeep. Worn slip spline did mine in.

  • This was just cool looking. Hope you found the clunk.
