I respect almost any band that can play something that is meaningful and full of personality. Nirvana stripped it down to the brutal, bare essentials, something music in the '90s had begun to stray from. Brand New deals out lyrics like blows to the head and heart, hurting and healing simultaneously. And RHCP? Ignore their best hits and go straight for the ballads--screw Raindance Maggie, listen to I Could Have Lied or Don't Forget Me. Music is fucking powerful stuff, genres aside.

@blairson22 I've been playing and studying music since I was 10, played multiple gigs and festivals, and been in bands ranging from a myriad generes. Just because I don't mindlessly follow an iconic band that never deserved to be iconic doesn't mean I know nothing. And Brand New doesn't even play the same type as Nirvana, so obviously you're the one who doesn't know much about the genere. Kindly take your arrogant mind and go learn something about real music and real talent.
