The Coming Storm - Act 1 (Opening Scene to Scene 2) - Calvary Temple Sterling Virginia

Opening Scene (Prelude)

We see a group of women through a security camera. One woman quotes Philippians 3:7-8. When she finishes, another woman begins singing "Hide Me Now". As they arrive at the chorus, music starts out low and swells as the scene fades to titles and credits. We are not sure where these women are, but at the end of the titles, we see that we are going three years into the past.

Act 1, Scene 1

We come into the kitchen of Jim and Melissa Rivers. Melissa (played by Lisa) serves dinner to Jim (played by Tony), and their two sons, Tommy (played by Timmy) and Ben (played by Joe). We begin establishing the characters immediately. Part way through their evening meal, Jim sees something on the news and turns it up. The news is very ominous regarding the financial condition of the world. After the news, we come back to the family and Jim quenches fears and encourages the family to keep their trust in the Lord.

Act 1, Scene 2

Later that night, after prayer, some of the men that attend Agape Christian Center meet in the foyer to discuss the day. Bill, played by Edgar, comments on how quickly 7:30pm came. He is shining some light into his character as we will see as the play continues. Jim comes out of prayer and is addressed by Martin, played by Matt. The discussion quickly goes to the global financial crisis. We see another glimpse into Bill's character, as he shares that he is tired from all of the persecution that has occurred to this point. The three men attempt to encourage Bill that "these are just the footmen" and that things are bound to get worse.
