The morons at the MPAA and RIAA like to spread lies and dis-information to get people to stop downloading music and movies so one of their popular ad's were "You can click... but you cant hide" which as nearly everyone knows, you can hide pretty well if you just read up a bit before starting your p2p client...
For example:
you can encrypt your traffic
Or connect via a VPN
use tools like peer guardian
Or give up using clients but instead download from RapidShare / MegaUpload and others like them
etc etc
The fact of the matter is, the RIAA / MPAA have not *won* a SINGLE case, hence you stand a better chance of getting struck by lightening a couple of times than being successfully sued for filesharing or another way of looking at it is... winning the lottery twice in a row in a single week.
