3yr old Boy Mauled by a Siberian Husky

A Bronx dad pummeled a 120-pound Husky with his bare hands to save his 3-year-old son from the vicious canine, police and witnesses said.

J. Kendall, 32, peeled the dog away from his son, when a dimwit owner - who police identified as Louis Delez, 23 - didn't try to stop the attack.

"He was closer to the dog than me," Kendall said. "I'm upset he didn't do anything."

Kendall was walking with his family outside of their Hunts Point home around 9 p.m. Thursday when, suddenly, the unleashed crazed canine attacked the tot.

"When I turned my back ... I heard him scream," Kendall said. "When I turned around, the white Husky was on him."

The hulking father kicked the hound off the young boy, then punched the dog in the face, he said.

"At the time I felt like Superman, because my son was in danger."

The hero dad could not save his child from injury, however.

"My son's face was full of blood," Kendall said. "I saw cuts on his eyes, face and nose."

Excuse me? 120 pound husky? No way it couldve been pure bred. Though i believe it is possible that this breed could maul children it does not recongnize due to obssesive prey drive. But they ussually are great with children and make great family pets. I own 2 actually and they have never bitten a person.

I have two questions. one how was this dog trained? Any dog can b vicous and attack if no training or bad training happens. two what kinda husky is this ????? They dont get that heavy.... sigh wolf hybrid? bad owner bad reporting of breed i think. Hope the boy is ok

only mistake made here, was from the owner. NEVER EVER, have your husky off the leash outside. only in places that are fenced in. their instinkt to run is to big. why it attacked the kid i cant say. i have two myself and they have no problems with kids or adults for that matter. that being said, i would have to be a halfbreed, givin the high weight.

No Husky is 120 lbs. That's the first sign that this is shoddy journalism work. My Siberian Husky is the friendliest dog I've ever owned. He loves every person he meets on walks, and loves playing with other animals. It takes a negligent and probably abusive trainer to make a Husky mean.  Sad to see the name of such a great dog tarnished by such rubbish.

Could not have been a purebred husky. I own a husky and he loves everyone, also no husky is 120 lbs.. Like it was said below sounds like a malamute they have similar looks but are much larger
