John Mack shows you how to cook Osso Bucco Milanese. I like to prepare this dish for company because it really is foolproof! It can be in the oven between 2 and 3 hours and it can't overcook!

  • please please for the sake and the respect for the italian cuisine never say that what you cooked is ossobucco. the real italian ossobucco has nothing to do with what you cooked.please read a cooking book. first: never, but never use tomatoes, carrots,celery.the meat has to be just sealed over quick fire but then cooked with the rest of ingredients which are just garlic,lemon juice,lemon zest and couple of anchovies

  • @alexavisarion That's one recipe. Try mine for comparison. It may not meet the purest std for "real" osso bucco, but it is quite delicious!

  • i can't find the meat anywhere, I searched my supermarkets but none have them

  • @TheMrpalid You might not find veal shanks in all supermarkets all the time. Ask the butcher or find a more high end supermarket. Pretty expensive though.

  • are you supposed to tie the meat?

  • @TheMrpalid It's not necessary to tie it unless the outer membrane is gone and the meat is falling off even before you brown it.
