can't see how adele reminds yall anything of lady t, i mean adele has a beautiful voice but they are two different types of singers, adele does not sing anything like teena, everyone is on the bandwagon now because adele won 6 grammys, i mean adele is marvelous in her own right but i seriously doubt she will top her last two cds, her success came from a bad break up, Anyways this is teena's page and this should be all about teena who sang funk, soul, r&b, Adele doesn't and not close to blacks

@dsitruc I agree, even though I love Adele but I like Lisa Stansfield more and of course nobody comes close to Lady T. Ms Teena Marie, been loving her for years and have seen her in concert a few times. I still can't believe she's gone, they say she is but idk..deep inside It's hard to accept this..so sudden, so young, not fair

Adele has a muscular voice but it lacks the nuance and variety of Teena. Adele is more of a pop star than soul singer. Hey and what about Lisa Stansfield...she is closer to Teena than Adele.

@alexanderdiaz1 I always felt there was envy form others, and when she left, it came shining through like a full moon. In my opinion she could bring it well as Chaka khan, Patti Labelle, or any of them. She was one of the GREAT ONES, and was very gifted. She sued Motown, creating a bill to protect artists from being required to stay with a label when it wasn't releasing their records. She really paved a way out for others. And should have been recognized prior to her passing for that bill alone.
