The Politics of Ecstasy (The Politics of Ecstasy album, 1996) live performance taken from The Year of the Voyager DVD.

Lyrics:

I hate you, the pigs who turn the screws, I hate everything you stand for
I hate the world we've bred, political pigs we've fed, our fathers left us nothing but a dead world
Beyond repair down in despair, our fathers left us nothing
Choking on the influx of technology I realize the politics of ecstasy
And we can't change what's in stone
We've been had. Injustice to the masses, destroy the land and crush the poor
The pigs are fueled by greed, political ways obscene, our fathers left corruption in this dead world
Beyond repair down is despair, our fathers left us nothing
Choking on the puke of their industry, regurgitated propaganda ministry
Freedom's never free, the politics of ecstasy are these:
Freedom's never free, these are the politics of ecstasy:
I hate you , the pigs who turn the screws, I hate everything you stand for
I hate the world we've bred, political pigs we've fed, our fathers left us nothing but a dead world
Beyond repair down in despair, our fathers left us nothing
Choking on the influx of technology I realize the politics of ecstasy
Freedom's never free, the politics of ecstasy are these:
Freedom's never free, the politics of ecstasy are these:
If you take a step back and you realize your home can't be a perfect world
There's still hope the hate you feel will fade, injustice is gone:
Injustice is gone for a little while.

  • This is fucking beautiful song <3

  • @Shinmeiryu I mean, Warrel's exact words were calling Chris a great friend as well as a great player. That's what Dave had picked up. I don't think a great friend leaves his other friends for more money. XD But I dunno. I like Attilla anyway. :)

  • @xTheWorldNeedsAHerox Is Warrel's approval necessary? I could be wrong about Chris, I'd be willing to admit it if I was, but that's just the way I see it. I don't fault him for it at all, though. I don't think anyone should.

  • @Shinmeiryu I don't think Warrel Dane would be so approving of Chris leaving if that were really the case.

  • @FSATA 3:02 "I see you again..."

  • 1:52 "I see you..."

  • @Shinmeiryu na i know you werent. Funnily enough i wouldnt be surprised if Jeff and chris collaborate on sumat pretty soon. cos dave mustaine is pretty screwed atm his hands hurting again, and after 13 is released his contract with roadrunner is up so he'll probably pack it in. so chris'll be looking for new work, and jeff hasnt got another band together so, you never know...

  • @HeavyMetalVagabond Yes, I would. I wasn't criticizing him.

  • @Shinmeiryu wouldnt you?

  • Chris joined Megadeth to get paid more. I really mean no offense by that, but it's true.
