Jerry sings this tune he wrote back in 1986. This is an extremely rare recording. Jerry brought in the Osborne Brothers to sing harmony on this cut. Great song with that Reed energy we came to expect from Jerry!

  • Son! I thought I was Jerry's biggest fan. Got his entire RCA collection. Everything he did for Capitol the first time, most of the Columbia stuff. I even have the rare RCA 45 "Boogie Woogie Rock And Roll" / "In Between." I'll have to admit, today, in year 34 of my Jerry fandom, I had no idea this recording even existed. PLEASE post details: Label, producer, etc.

  • This was Jerry's last Capitol single in 86. It was timely because the New York Times had just run an article saying that Country Music was in decline. Funny, in the 90s Country Music was the number one radio format! Jerry nailed this and it should have been a #1. That's ok though, Jerry made his music for us...his fans! He wrote this tune and that's the Osbourne Brothers singing harmony.

  • Now this is real country. Not like the crap they pass of as country now a days. Wish there were more artists out there today like Jerry

  • Thanks Noymanmic for giving more details about this single, thanks gsswv for asking, and thanks Jerry Reed for writing a response to the New York Times. I think real music is due for a resurgence soon....and I don't mean just commercially either. I believe. I have faith.

  • graveljaw!

  • any one know where we can get a copy of this song?

  • This is great!! I'm like Jerry's biggest fan and try to look for every Reed song he's made! Thank you so much for this, R.I.P The "Guitar Man", "Alabama Wild Man", and "Snowman"......Jerry Reed!

  • The song "In Between" would have made a great single in my opinion. I also wish RCA had released his version of "Red River" from the LP "The Bird". It was great! Miss ol' Jerry!

  • @Noymanmic Thanks for the reply. Had a feeling that was the case (Capitol). I figured it was the last single, and when it didn't chart Capitol dropped him, explaining why it never appeared on an album. When RCA dropped him, Jerry had hit number one just a year earlier. Record companies don't always make the brightest bulbs on the tree, do they?

BTW, great guitar run at the end of this one!! Thanks again.
