This is an older Mariner before Mercury built Mariners. This is the Yamaha Built Mariner. The thing that always impresses me with the Japan motors id the amount of power they have. I can run a 25-30hp U.S.A. built motor and rarely over flow the test tank. I put a Japan motor in it at only 28hp and I get the shop floor washed. In most cases I have to have a U.S.A. built motor of at least 35 plus hp to get that kind of overflow

  • These old mariners never die, a great motor

    Owned a 5hp when I was a teenager

  • I think Tohatsu builds Merc's now, then Nissan is Tohatsu, OMC is built in Canada, Suzuki & Yamaha are Japanese, Nothing left in the good ol' USA.
