Introduce yourself. [name,age,role]

My name is Luke Pilgrim. I'm 21 and I'm the singer and guitarist for Last November.

You have an awesome last name by the way.

Oh, thank you. A lot of people, when I go out to movies and stuff, always misspell it. They always put an "A" in it and I'm just like "Did you not have History class learning about the pilgrims and Indians?"

Describe your band in one word.

That's hard I don't know. How about corky.

Corky?

I like that, that will work. I always had a corky kind of voice. So, that works for me, I guess.

So, you started to write songs when you were 15, how is it singing your songs that you wrote since you were 15?

It's weird. When I play songs from "All The Gory Details." It's kinda strange to me now. Once you write a song, then you spent so much time producing it and recording it and rehearsing it a million times then you play it on countless shows, playing those songs, it gets to the point eventually like you don't even relate to the song anymore, which is kinda like a bummer cause it's like I write a song and it would mean a lot to me at first lyrically. As time moves on as I play it and sing it so much, I kinda lose my connection with that song. That's kinda of a downfall of touring and playing it so much, but it's still always fun to play. Especially, like old songs, off our first record. If we do a show where we have people familiar with the other songs we play them, you know the best of the old songs. That's always fun cause if you listen you can hear them sing along and that's pretty cool.

I think that's so cool that you wrote songs when you were 15, I try to write songs, but I kinda suck.

Yeah, well we only have a few of my favorite lines and lyrics and stuff that were on the first album. I wrote when I was about 11 or 12, but you know the only part I kept was the chorus on the lyrics, the rest is what we all did. For me, I could write. Just keep a journal and write your thoughts.

Is "Saturday Evening Ghost" a project you're really serious with or just like a back up thing?

I just started that as something to do for fun, really. I was still in high school when I started that, I think. I kinda started writing new songs that didn't fit Last November style and I still do. I still write, I've write so much, I write all the time. You know I have countless songs that I don't ever use cause its all kinda folkish and countryish or whatever. I enjoy writing stuff like that too. I don't like to be confided into genre. I think you should write naturally. So, yeah it's something just for fun.

Where were you when you first heard your song on the radio?

I don't know, I can't remember the first time I heard us on the radio.

Did you ever had a movie movement, like as your song being played on the radio.

Yeah, I can't remember the first time I heard it. I heard one time I was at the station in Athens, Georgia. I knew they were playing our new single "The Bumper Sticker Song." You know how you have the volume down low and not paying attention and I heard the bridge of that song, but I couldn't place it for a second. I couldn't figure out what song it was, but it was so familiar. It was kinda bizarre cause it's my own voice, you know. The volume was down low and I wasn't expecting to hear it, so it totally threw me. I was like "Holy Crap" and I turned it up. So, that was a cool moment, something I wasn't expecting.

Do you feel awkward when you hear your voice on the radio?

No, not anymore. When I was younger I did. I use to feel awkward. I started singing when I was so young. I got over it earlier in life. I use to feel weird hearing myself talk in interviews. It doesn't affect me anymore.
