  • @sasprawler I've been an Avalanche guy for years, since Sakic and Roy but I've always loved the Flames and Oilers fans...Far cry from the animals out on the West Coast...

And yes, all you need to do is go read HFBoards from back in June to see that Canuck fans never gave Boston credit for winning the Cup, all you read is "conspiracy," "Boston was allowed to goon it up," "Daddy Campbell was protecting the Bruins," etc. I think those animals have watched too many Oliver Stone movies.

  • @VancouverChokersI'm a canadian and damn proud of it, but thinking of Vancouver fans makes me sick to my stomach, they're still saying their loss was a fluke and that boston got lucky, they're animals...

After Calgary lost to Tampa Bay in the 2004, finals, there were people in downtown Calgary holding up signs that said, "we're proud of you boys" and "your still our champions..we love you Flames"...no riots. And Calgary easily has one of the top fan bases in the league...

  • @sasprawler I live in the States but have been exposed to Canuck fans. They generally have the arrogance of your average Texan (and believe me when I say Texans are REALLY arrogant). I was at school on a project two years ago and one of the guys in our group was a Canuck fan from Canada. We got along ok but I could feel the arrogance rolling off the guy in waves. It wouldn't be significant except that none of the other Canadians I've ever met exuded that level of arrogance.

  • MATT COKE SCORES BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO CANUCKS ;LOSE

  • @TheFlames4life It's not his fault that the defense gave Iginla a breakaway and Gelinas was left in front of the net with the puck while the Canucks had their heads up their asses.

  • The main reason canucks lost this is because alex fuckin auld is in net!

  • @LadyThriller ya but you gotta admit, Canucks fans are a lot more rowdy, rude and obnoxious than Calgary fans. Canucks fans are easily 3x more likely to start a riot than Flames fans. I've been to a home game in Vancouver wearing a Blackhawks jersey 4 years ago and trust me it wasn't very fun. I've also been to a Wild home game in my Flames jersey and their fans were waaay nicer that Canucks fans, not to mention the Wild have one of the leagues best fan bases.

  • @sasprawler i live in calgary and im a huge flames fan, but you have to understand the circumstances, The canucks were expected to win the stanley cup, having the best record and being up in the series, while the flames in 04 didn't have to win the cup, they were underdogs in pretty much every series that run, and they already had a riot in 1994, so the people in van only wanted to "show up" and did it again.

  • Cooke before he became a fucking asshole. He was good too.

  • oh man good times here in Calgary. At least we celebrated our Stanley Cup run instead of burning our city down...
