A girl who played World of Warcraft died in real life and the friends she had met in the game planned an in-game funeral for her. They posted about the event on the message boards and urged people not to bust it up. I don't think I need to explain what happened; the video speaks for itself.

I agree entirely. This wasn't some RP event, it was people stepping BACK from the unreal world and paying respects to someone who has left the real one.
None of this was 'in character'. It was the players being themselves, mourning the loss of a fellow player in the only communal way available to them.
The Guild just thought LOL LET'S GANK EM NOOBS!
If anything it shows they take the game more seriously than the mourners.
They were just paying there respects. They didn't think it was real, they were saying goodbye to a friend they made online. This was pathetic to do, especially when they trying to hold something on for their friend.
the way i figure, is if she loved playin WoW, then this is somthing for her, Im sure she would have liked her side to beat back the raid, but thats how it goes.
It's not a matter of approving or not. Sociopaths and worse do things from behind a keyboard. I play wow... but it's a GAME!! If someone dies, go to their funeral, send a card for god's sake. WoW is not the real world, and I'm sure her family woulda thought these ppl were geeks.
