@kixmgc Well, of course Jordan never played for "The Church" or "Riverside" as so many NY area b'ball aficionados from the 60's through mid-90s would come to know the program. Always remember that while MJ was born in B'klyn, he was raised in Wilmington, NC.. Why was he born in B'klyn? His dad (R.I.P.) was stationed, at the time, at the old B'klyn Navy Yard.
Those three may have been the last of the fabled program to make it to the NBA. From Kareem who was the first of the schoolboy superstars to put the NY Riverside Church Hawks program on the map back in 1961 to those three mentioned, it was a legendary program. Practically every high school star in the tri-state area played for the Hawks: King brothers; McCray brothers, Mullin, Moore brothers, great NY Marquette players of the 70s., etc..
