Squid, Squishy's Way---the way I grew up eating it.

1 Whole Medium Squid - cleaned, gutted, trimmed/sliced
1-2 Teaspoons Sesame Oil
1 Medium Onion or 2 Green Onions
2-3 Cloves of Garlic
Kosher Salt & Cracked Black Pepper
2-3 Tablespoons of Red Pepper Paste
2-3 Teaspoons of Honey OR 2 Teaspoons of Sugar OR 1 or 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Agave

Optional: 1 Teaspoon Sesame Seed, 2 Teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes

  • Sea food is expensive here, so I don't buy it often. I definitely must try this recipe when I get a chance... It looks amazing, and sounds amazing too! :)

  • I've never cleaned a whole squid before, but with your technique, I'll have to try it once I can get a hold of a fresh one. There's a fresh seafood market that's in the works of opening up soon in our town, so we'll have lots of fresh seafood available. I enjoy squid so your recipe is something to keep in mind in the near future. :)
