I've always felt the best girlfriend was a razor blade, they never hurt much/

This is the ultimate early manics video. a culmination of everything they did up to 1995. My favorite video because you get to see Richey smile and laugh with wasnt a common occurance in many of his interviews. Also Nicky Wire seems like a genuinely fun person to be around

Wow Thats me in the crowd at 1:19 . Those early shows were chaos!. I've got Richeys last ever show on Tape from the Astoria Christmas Gigs, I'll see if can put it up sometime. The gig was amazing they smashed everything in sight as if to signal it was the end. In hindsight it was for the original Manics. Got my tickets for October in Newport , they are still great live but now in my late thirties I tend to stand nearer the back LOL.

Look how ripped James is! 1:25

We talked about this song during philosophy class! The teacher explained us that the lyrics are inspired by Nietzsche's philosophy: i.e. "Dionysus against the crucified" refers to the nickname used by Nietzsche in some of his writings (Dionysus) and to his critical attitude towards religion. "Find your truth, face your truth, speak your truth, be your truth" is clearly referred to Nietzsche's nihilism (western culture, its morals, myths, are just lies, you have to find and face the real truth)
