I used to watch this show in elementary school, why don't they make stuff like this for kids these days???
-
I will never be able to forget this song!
-
@enchurito Wow I had the same reaction from my teacher
-
I learned about negative numbers, geometry and probablity by watching this show...I wish they'd make a show like this for today's generation.

So bizarre. I didn't remember this at all until I hit play—then twenty some-odd years vanished and every lyric felt as familiar as the day I first heard it.
-
@Enchurito I also learned about neg. numbers by this song when I was in 2nd grade.

this show had extremely high product value. too bad I couldn't understand 99% of the math concepts in this show when I was 4

@rmumusicalrobYou should've checked out Beverly joining the picket line for the Writers' Guild of America in L.A. a few years back... she's quite versatile.

oh how i miss good mathducational tv thank you for this flashback!

@TheGlassLemon I read books all the time -- but only when I'm sitting on the throne!
I actually knew about negative numbers in the first grade cause of this song. I was told by my teacher that negative numbers weren't supposed to be taught till 4th grade and to shut up. Talk about ruining a kid's faith in education at a young age.

When I was 8, I watched this show every time it came on and I loved it, and still do. It makes me so angry that there aren't any more high quality educational shows for youth like this left; only filler, violence and shows aimed for 4 years or younger. It was so entertaining, catchy and educational.
I'm also saddened that Lynne Thigpen passed away at such a young age (55).
Thanks for posting all these great videos and I hope you'll get more and some of Mathnet.
