Bonjour, j'ai ce CD, voici les informations: The Mahabharata Original Soundtrack, a Film by Peter Brook, A 3e étage/Womad Production for Real World, 1990, Carol 2308-2. Au moment où je l'ai commandé en 1993, il était introuvable en Amérique du Nord. Vous pouvez m'écrire si vous voulez des extraits, ou que je vous envoie une copie. Salutations de Montréal.
That really is weird translation, as I see no reference to the "Lord of Love" in
vedaaham etam purusham mahantam
adityavarnam tamasah parastaat
for which the rest of the translation applies. I myself am searching everywhere to completely decode this song, as some parts seem to be taken from sources other than Swetasvatara. This really has nothing to do with love, even less any 'Lord of Love.'

@sarveniko1
Start is with verse II.5 of Swetasvatara:
srn'vantu visve amrutasya putra
a ye dhamani divyaani tasthhu
This may be translated as:
May the sons of gods make themselves heard
May those who occupy the celestial regions call to me!
Rendition is perfect here, but in other verses Sarmila Roy is simply wrong, twisting words to mean totally different things.
This is not by Tagore, this is Svetaswatara and something else.

Best thank for uploading!
This soundtrack is just wonderful - so sad, so thouching. I simply cannot stop listening.
