@LordShivasServant An interview with Regardie in one of Hyatt's books expressed pessimism all the way down for the human race. Thousands of years ahead if any enlightenment at all. But it was fine because he didn't expect an afterlife consciously. And in that case what does it matter so much eh?
I like how he expresses uncertainty about a great enlightenment coming about or not. This is something I've tried to express to people only to be met by blind optimism.
The 60s is a great example of a collectively enforced delusion of getting somewhere.
