This is very touching and I have no doubt something fantastic is really happening. I just wonder how she can make any sense of what she is hearing when she doesn't know what any word is supposed to sound like.
Also, she has the intonations of someone who is used to hearing (normally, deaf people have a very mono-tone voice).

I had hearing problems all my life, and I know that every sound is precious. I can only imagine how she felt here.
