Part 2: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=qsomL3ejhiI
Derek and I take our respective 4x4s for our first run together. To be fair, he damaged his wheel going through the mud and gave up on the second climb when we saw the damage (but his line was still way off, which is why he failed the first few attempts). We'll go out and he'll get a chance to redeem himself (a chance, I say!)

  • This is so obviously trying to make the partol look good.

  • Ah, yes... but thats the benefit of the Patrol owner being video editor... as I said in the description, the second hill wasnt really the discos fault. However, I'm sure the disco owner will agree that mine is the better car - but its also newer and probably isnt as good on the road. Be more interesting if the disco had some more ground clearance.

We've been out again, but I'm not posting that video to save the disco owner some embarrisment. Im sure he will get back some credit at some point!

  • its not the car must be the driver for sure

  • sorry didnt realise you headed the whole way down! that last bit at 9.18 is awesome. i JUST got up it in my prado, took the high side.

  • I went on this track last week, its in ourimbah state forest. at 4.58, in stead of going up that steep track, if you kept continuing on there is an awesome hill/rock climb at the end, heading back up towards the main track through the forest! nice vid tho!

  • Im with you saabz2000. My S2A would have made it through those sections --- but that could have something to do with the fact I dont give a stuff about it. My Disco would have a better chance due to tyre selection.

Driver training is a good Idea, I'm going to do mine soon.

  • 4:15min - where brain fails brute force prevails

  • Your right, all 4x4 have advatages and disadvantages. Although im a landie fan, as long as you had fun who cares Good vid

  • Wont be long mate... that 3.0L patrol of yours will grenande on itself if you keep driving that way... 3.0L patrol european motor = nugget..

  • Well, some points obviously need to bemade here:

    1) Both of you need to go on a 4x4 driver training programme

    2) Tyre choice

    3) My 50 year old S2a Land Rover would have performed better

    4) Put the shorts away!

    5) There must be something wrong with the disco (and or the driver)

    6) The Patrol needs to be about 4 to 5 feet shorter to qualify as a proper off roader.... lets face it, ITS FAR TOO BIG! It belongs in a desert not up a mountain

    7) The Patrol is also obviously a TOORAK TRACTOR
