  • Great little story, I especially like how humble and star-struck he is. He seems like a genuinely decent bloke you could have a beer with.

  • don't you all mean sandler looks like Springsteen!!! To be honest I can't see it myself, and this man has always had more than just the looks.

  • love this story....

  • @surfstomp I think your hate should be directed towards the thief, or whomever was in charge of security.

I was friends with a band named, the Woolies, who backed Chuck near Lansing, Michigan in the summer of 1974. He showed up with his own guitar, as described in this story, & as shown in the movie, "Hail, Hail, Rock & Roll."

That s a bummer. I just took a glance on eBay and what is described as an "original," 1960 veserion of that guitar has a "Buy it Now," price of $39,995.

  • WTF??? Bruce Springstein? 0:31!

  • Why I hate Chuck Berry. In 1972, we hired Chuck for a concert and as (normal) terms of the contract we were to provide Chuck with a backup band, fender amp and provide him a Gibson 335 guitar for the show. I was thrilled to loan the legendary Chuck Berry my Gibson 335 and when the show ended, Chuck placed the 335 on the guitar stand and left the stage. A fan jumped on the stage and grab the guitar and ran out the fire door of the auditorium thinking that he absconded Chuck Berry's guitar.

  • @ganjisgood You do realize that's Bruce Springsteen right?

  • "When I'm 60" it is so weird to think that that is today

  • hahaha nice
