Back then as well as today, there could/can be damn little sympathy for the procrastinator. Their procrastination is typically treated as a contemptible moral failing. Yet, it is frequently perfectionism, sometimes boredom, but not necessarily narcissism, as to why so many do it. Creating "team-managed teams" and cooperative-learning schemes can oftentimes help the procrastinator. For the narcissist procrastinator, something akin to boot-camp platoons may be the needed antidote, though.
