The Procrastinator (1952)

When Jean becomes chairman of the social committee, she habitually fails to plan and use time wisely in carrying out her responsibilities. When she is unable to get everything together in time for the school dance, her schoolmates are justifiably upset with her. Filmed with a cast of nonprofessionals in Lawrence, Kansas. Writer: Margaret Carlile (Trudy) Travis.

  • Back then as well as today, there could/can be damn little sympathy for the procrastinator. Their procrastination is typically treated as a contemptible moral failing. Yet, it is frequently perfectionism, sometimes boredom, but not necessarily narcissism, as to why so many do it. Creating "team-managed teams" and cooperative-learning schemes can oftentimes help the procrastinator. For the narcissist procrastinator, something akin to boot-camp platoons may be the needed antidote, though.
