I think this is such an underrated album. There are songs that are "eh", but every album has its fillers. But this album produced Stereotypes, Universal, Ernold Same, Globe Alone, Entertain Me, Yuko & Hero, & this song. Yuko, & Thought of Cars are two of Blur's greatest, most haunting songs. I always felt Great Escape was a great companion to Radiohead's OK Computer. Both talked about the emptiness of the excesses of the 90's, & predicted their fear about the loneliness technology would bring.

Yeah, i agree. This album is still good, but it has a lot of fillers though(The songs sounds kinda similar).

The Great Escape has always frustrated me...you can tell there's a masterpiece lurking under there somewhere, but it was done in by a couple really dodgy songs. The only Blur album that in a parallel world I'd like to see Damon have another crack at.

Agree. An ex of mine sang "Entertain Me" as: "And Titaaaniiiiic"... I used to love her so much up until then - I broke up with her shortly after. This was in 98-99.

Great song, its funny how no one mentions what a large influence Bowie seems to be on Blur.
