  • yea i feel the same way, but blowing up at a 1000ft. they are about 30+ mph less at speed then at the 1/4 mile. Sure you'll get the same result but you'll have another 320 feet to stop as well.

  • I can see where you're coming from, but at the same time, if it blows up at 1000 ft you are going to get the same result... I just feel like they have taken the sport that I grew up idolizing and "nerfed" it.

  • well looking back many of the engine explosions, including Scott's was within the last 320 feet. If you've been keeping up with racing in the 2009 season you've seen many less wrecks than in '06-'07.

  • I still don't quite understand how taking away 320 feet is gonna make these guys any safer..... What was their reason for shortening it after Scott's passing?

  • yea, everyone.... pro stock, pro stock motorcycles, top alcohol dragsters and funny cars, and all the sportsman classes run the 1/4 mile. The only ones that don't are the top fuel and funny cars.

  • So, lemmie get this straight... Everyone but Fuelers still run 1/4 mile?
