Fantasy Football League - Dave Higson - Ding Dong Do!

Classic moments from the 1996 series of Fantasy Football League. In this clip it features Bolton club commentator Dave Higson commentating on Bolton's away game at Port Vale whilst questioning the judgement and the referee.

David Baddiel and Frank Skinner then discuss how Dave was Bolton's club commentator until they got to the Premiership, where Sky didn't allow clubs to have their own commentary.

Dave Higson's catch phrase was "Ding Dong Do", years before Peter Kay and Patrick McGuiness coined "Dink dank doo" in Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere, so now you know.

Dave sadly passed away in March 2005, but I'm sure that his spirit will live on with classic commentary such as this and his infamous outburst of the Owen Coyle chant when said player scored at Everton (also featured on Fantasy Football League)

The best Dave Higson is on the supporters coach, selling scratchcards: "Now, any of you lads fancy a rub-off for a pound?..... No, I didn't mean it like that..... it's not that type of video...." A proper football fan, commented on the game (albeit in a biased fashion) instead of just quoting statistics, and a thoroughly nice bloke too. Feel proud when people say,"Bolton fan eh? Didn't you have that commentator.....?" "What a hero, what a man....... ooh! What a bad foul!!"

Apparently those police horses ended up in the paddock. Also, this match was revenge for Bolton knocking Vale out of the cup years earlier.
