The "Live at Raul's" compilation on CD is one of my most prized posessions!
Got it at Cheapos in 1999 when I first moved to Austin (guess that makes me a "discount whore")

Watched you guys play at an apartment clubhouse off Far West in Austin for a practice session. Guessing it was in '77. Small group of people invited- friends of friends sort of thing. Great to find The SKUNKS on youtube!

Do any of you guys from around Texas remember a guy by the name of Manolo Lopez?

I remember smoking dope on the middle of the dance floor and listening to the band crystal image - there at mother earths. and remember sharon tates Baby at Raul's
Yes, we (as in we, the band, Eddie, Billy, me & Elvis) did play Stranger in the House but it began when we called him up to play on Mystery Dance. We already knew Jake Riviera, his manager & head of Stiff. But Patti Smith was a different night & they were not on the same label. Elvis stayed onstage and played the rest of our set with us, as we did a lot of covers at that time. Then after the break, he came back & played more songs with us.

Eddie Munoz, aka Fazz Eddie in those days, was first. Eddie & I started the band in late 78 with Billy Blackmon on drums. Eddie and I were in a band before that called Jelly Roll and were hanging out, jamming, etc. Eddie went on to the Plimsouls, now he's with Magic Christian.

Who was the bassest after Jesse in the Violators ? He played with the Shades and he played with the Jets w/Bevis griffen?

Bucky took my place in the Violators. Yes I think he was in the Shades, too. Forgot his last name.

Yes I remember the Savage Saints, but only faintly. I thought they were from NOLA? If not, maybe Houston? I'll ask Richard, our roadie from back then.He tends to have an encyclopedic memory, and not just for grudges. Don't recall the other two. Keep rockin, Jesse
