The tragedies in "Antigone" are due to a relentless curse, the tyrannical Creon playing his part of unwise leader against Antigone's righteous path.
but I also believe Sophocles presents a story more complicated than that, Antigone helps the curse along--and makes it more remorseless--with the headstrong self-righteousness she shares with her father. Also has an intemperate character to her, like Creon.
Antigone's motives are "right", but not necessarily correct is the manner she pursues her position. Teiresias never says she is correct, and don't forget that Creon's arguments for the state are quoted in other ancient Greek contexts as models to be upheld.
