A "U-TIP" FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NATURAL HAIR...THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO FLAT IRONING!
THE CONVENTIONAL / TRADITIONAL OR "OLD SCHOOL" WAY OF PLACING A HOT COMB INTO A HEATED OVEN...HAS BEEN UPDATED TO AN ELECTRIC COMB, WHICH STILL GIVES YOU THE STYLING OPTION OF A "FLAT IRON"...BUT WITH A LONGER LASTING ADVANTAGE.

  • The Dudley pressing cream is just what helps the heat to penetrate to your hair to press it, it doesn't protect it against the damaging side effects of the high temperature of the heat from the electric pressing comb. Thanks for the comment :)

  • @natrlchallenge I only press my hair during the winter months (Oct-Feb) and then I let it go back to its natural curly state for the summer and spring months (March-Sept). I maintain the look, using a pressing cream and Silk Elements products.

  • yours work better than mine :( but maybe because i didnt use a pressing cream or grease.

  • @hellokittyrocksyodad Is your pressing comb "Hot & Gold", I only use their products. Yes, the pressing cream or the hair oils do help the heat to penetrate through your hair. I use "Organic Blue Magic" and "Marcel Wax". Try these and tell me how they work for you :)

  • Hi,thanks 4 the response, i wear my hair under a weave right now and i'm also searching for alternatives to avoid relaxers.I have both a pressing comb and flation and any review i see stating the pro's and cons interest me, but i will read up more on hair protection...enjoy ur day & all the best 4 the new year!

  • In response to my recommendation to use Dudley Pressing Cream when you press your hair with this "electric pressing iron"; the product can only be purchased from a licensed beautician. Hope that this helps you with your hair.

  • I thought that the Dudley pressing cream already have heat protectant mixed in

  • How often do you do this and how do you maintain your strait look?

  • I've just started using a hotcomb and have a few questions.I was told to wash and blow dry my hair, section it off add the oil for moisture and then run the comb through each section. my question is afterwords how do I keep it shinny andcan I wash it or will the curls come back

  • Hi, thanks alot & I did go searching for the product, unfotunately they don't seem to have that product in my country/island(Trinidad). So I'll hold back 4 awhile until something offering simlar protection pops up, but I appreciate the recommendation non the less.

  • Your welcome. Hair protection is key, I use Silk Elements Hair Protection Spray, Silk Elements Hair Mousse (which protects the hair as well), Silk Elements Polish (that protects) and the pressing cream I use called Dudley's Hair Pressing Cream is a protectant as well. Have a blessed day to you too.
