  • That is the problem with Americans... you simply do not understand that real life is not what it might be. The original one is the french movie; beautifully made, it carries magic itself. The remake is boring, since its director made it for the American audience.

  • beautiful couple.I readead today about the Beauty and the beast: Monica Belluci and Vincent Cassel, very beautiful woman and very masculine and courageous man/ between them a Deeply Love.Every woman is touched when her feminine is divinity's for Him.The way to touch her.attitude show a deep love and respect. He have the rare privilege with such a trust and masculine attitude, protective even he is not so handsome. He is irresistible.Values of true Masculine Principle.the Beauty Quinn and the King!

  • I haven't seen an american version, but I loved french one. Honestly, I do not understand this movie fully. All the allusions to a Shakespreare "Midsummer night's dream" makes movie more tangled. I simply doubt - were Max in love with Lisa when he looked for her, or simply wanted to know the truth why she had left him.

I really thought he was, but then I saw movie more times, I started to wonder.

  • ahhh L'appartement one of my favourite films ever!! And Keane love them!!!

  • Omg, I just noticed another detail! The rose Daniel laid on the coffin of his dead wife...is exactly the same kind as the one he gave to Lisa at the end... A death-rose, a white rose to say goodbye. Sad!

  • @Sharmilka Its such a shame because if L'Appartement was remade correctly it would have been ideal. However it doesn't suit Americian setting as it's too much in a European French theme which is better and more romantic.

  • @Debz3011 Me too. The film made me believe again, believe in the cinema:) French cinema is the best!

I saw Wicker Park (American' Appartment')...and the symbolism of the 3 rings was destroyed, they ommited it. Shame!

  • @Sharmilka I love the symbolism in the 3 rings. I only saw the film last week and it's already by far my favourate film of all time now and I'm now officially a massive fan of french cinema.

  • @Sharmilka Now YOU guess which ring he choses :)

  • @leomatosuk Watch the movie for the second time;) You'll get more;)

THREE RINGS:(sorry for my maybe incorretc choice of words for this)

*Muriel- it's beauty lies in its dignity, its far from simplicity

*Lisa (M. Bellucci) - it's beautiful, but don't touch it or you may get hurt! It was made only to be cherished from a far

*Alice (liar)- it seems to be ordinary, but looks different in another light

  • @Sharmilka actually i never thought about the connection of those rings with that...great observation!

  • Just fantastic! Excellent movie and music:)
