  • @altfactor good observation, "bolt bold" was a popular font in the 70's.

it was easy to read and use because the technical limitations of the time of "vidafont"

equipment limited the use of many exotic typefaces.

cbs creative dept. probably decided to use it for these reasons,

  • @xxchinookxx so everything sucks now cause they don't play on awful astro turf and wear black socks??? god, you must be a miserable person to be around

  • Note that when scores were supered on the screen, CBS Sports used the same font as it's corporate sister, CBS News, did at the time.

However, I believe that CBS moved Sports out of the News division and into a separate part of the network during the late 1960's.

  • I love these uniforms for New Orleans. Wish they would use these when they do the throw backs.

  • The Cowboys & Saints uniforms looked good in 1978. Now the Saints uniforms look like crap with those stupid looking black cleats, socks and black tape. Even the socks on Dallas players don't have the white stripes anymore. The NFL today= SUCKS big time!

  • but now we at better then the cowboys n anyway who dat is 9 -3 n dallas is 7-5 n ha ha

  • i think it was dorsett that got hit out of bound and a fight ensued i think harvey martin was involved

  • Dupree was another outstanding player has been overlooked by most. He carried himself with class on the field and always seemed to make the tough catches as well as the easy ones. I remember the personal foul called on him in Superbowl 13 when he very legally flattened a Steeler punt returner with a brutal hit....but he even handled that terrible call well.

  • Butch Johnson didn't pass away!!
