My Twitter friend @SecretSouth shows off his Fitbit, a small clip-on device that tracks your steps, your movements during sleep, and your calories consumed and burned. You clip it to your belt or pocket; ladies can clip it to their bra or even hang it on a chain around the neck.
Walk within 15 feet of the provided base station, and you can send this data to upload to the Fitbit website, and send it out on your favorite Social Media platforms. You can receive information about your fitness goals just like having a mini fitness trainer's feedback. It's great incentive to show you how your everyday activity --- and not just the hours at a gym or on the running track -- play into your overall picture of health .
You can order from Fitbit.com. Price point as of 02/15/2011 is $99.
