The Malaysian state of Sabah on Borneo Island has long been known as a land of promise. Its proximity to Indonesia and the southern Philippines and its rich natural resources, have combined to make Sabah a magnet for migrants in the region. Today, some estimate that nearly half of Sabah's population is made up of foreigners who are fleeing conflict or seeking employment

  • Sabah belongs to the Philippines.

  • @martinmendoza100 Even if it becomes ' a great nation' - there is no way in hell we the Sabah Natives want to join it~

  • @CyberSetan but think of this bangsamoro people do not consider themselves as a filipino... bangsamoro people and filipino people are diff. for them.. they ask to the government of the philippines to go in separate ways.. to have a 2 countries (mindanao and "the philippines") become a nations of peace or one country that is full of war in the land of mindanao.. i am a filipino not a bangsamoro.. pls. respect the sultan of the past and the present. may one day the philippines be a great nation..

  • i search using google i found this" Ferdinand E. Marcos, who succeeded to the presidency after defeating Macapagal in the 1965 elections, inherited the territorial dispute over Sabah; in 1968 he approved a congressional bill annexing Sabah to the Philippines. Malaysia suspended diplomatic relations (Sabah had joined the Federation of Malaysia in 1963), and the matter was referred to the United Nations. (The Philippines dropped its claim to Sabah in 1978.) source: philippinecountry. com

  • @umai21 no,my point is about this last UN plebiscite in sabah,

  • @YahqeL26 hey,bro be careful your word....i must agree that we must retake sabah, but not i do not i agree in the kind of punishment you want,we must respect them because they are settled there for many years, and remember we Filipino are not afraid any enemy, but we are a humanitarian loving race,,,,,so may the light touch your heart....

  • @markjdanz when sabah join malaysia, not because of better economy but they want independance of british , just like sarawak & singapor . Have you read the history of sabah in google. Better you read it so you can understand it more. YES i do agree what happen in philipine right now is because of western power. They are the one in control for hundred of year from colonial spain untill america took control & Philipine is still not in full control since american base is still there

  • @umai21 ok,.sabahan join you...i admit that, because you have a better economy now,but in a madrid protocol although i also know it is true, but who are them to make partition in a land of filipino, remember even without the help of americans they are in the state of defeat from our revolutionary forces.. the filipino .i felt we are a victim of this western powers...but ok,just like i have said,we the filipino always want a peace,so let us ease this matter.....

  • @markjdanz by the way have you read "Madrid Protocol of 1885" if you read it then you will know that all claim made by philipine including late sultanate sulu is for sabah is now invalid. just search it in google. You will find it.
