Acid Bath Shellac

This short film consists of a series of what may seem at first glance to be various clips of randomly coupled clusters of footage, but under closer review the relationships between the scenes and scenarios begin to take shape. The majority of the film consists of time lapses that are each, in one form or another, related to those shown just before and just after. Many of the clips are of things that most would consider to be generally negative for one reason or another, while others are either neutral or left unto the viewer's discretion, however a positive theme permeates throughout. The film was given the title "Acid Bath Shellac" not only because the terms "acid bath" and "shellac" are art terms and there are many references within the film surrounding the topic of art; but also and more importantly because the primary goal of the film is to strip the parameters around its audience member's minds which only serve to hinder their abilities to perceive the world around them in any manner other than that which they have always known. So if I, a filmmaker, were also considered to be an artist, then in this case my medium would be the minds of others.
